Zanzibar Zesta: A peppery but mild, versatile and colorful seasoning for roast meats, poultry, fish or salads. Or combine with olive oil as a bread dip.
Recipe: Zanzibar Roast Filet
• Large beef fillet (1lb) or 2 beef steaks
• 2 Tbsp olive oil
• 4 Tbsp Kula Zanzibar Zesta
• Coarse salt to taste
• Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Drizzle olive oil over the beef fillet or steaks and massage into the meat.
• Generously sprinkle KULA Zanzibar Zesta on a flat surface and roll the meat in the spice until it is completely covered.
• Then, to seal the meat, braise lightly in a hot skillet.
• Place the beef fillet in the oven. Roast for approximately one hour until fillet is well done on the outside and pink in the centre. If making Zanzibar steaks broil on each side for 10 mins .
• Let the meat stand for a few minutes and sprinkle with coarse salt before serving. Accompany this colorful dish with baked potatoes and a crunchy broccoli salad.
